Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Seymour Hughes (ranked 1475 p4p, 173 weight class) and Craig Wius (ranked 2374 p4p, 266 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Seymour Hughes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Craig Wius!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Skip Squint and Chris Dean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hughes throws a body shot but no joy.
And Wius tries to counter it with a takedown but Hughes pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Wius drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Hughes defends it well.

You can see the frustration on Hughes's face as Wius controls the position.

Wius is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hughes knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Wius accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
My spies in 3Band MMA ($800/week) inform me that Wius has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
