Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lee Roy (ranked 3167 p4p, 351 weight class) and Conor OMalley (ranked 2453 p4p, 290 weight class). Conor OMalley is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Lee Roy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Conor OMalley!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Ackerman and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
OMalley shoots for a double leg takedown but Roy sprawls well. He's pushed OMalley's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Roy is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by OMalley.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
OMalley closes the distance and clinches up with Roy, looking for a takedown. OMalley pushes Roy against the cage but Roy circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

OMalley closes this distance looking for a takedown but Roy circles away.
Roy swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Roy cracks OMalley with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

OMalley darts in looking for a takedown but Roy gets double underhooks and turns OMalley into the cage.
It looked like Roy wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Roy fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. OMalley looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Roy throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent OMalley stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Roy is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that OMalley can do to turn this around?

OMalley bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

OMalley is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Roy knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

OMalley thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

OMalley is looking to take a break and control but Roy is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

OMalley tries to pass the half guard into mount. Roy knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

OMalley wants to free his trapped foot but Roy is holding on for dear life with his legs.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

OMalley is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Roy has managed to free his arm - good work.

OMalley postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Roy to stand up.

A little feinted left hand from Roy on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Conor OMalley has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Roy, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
