Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Julio Cesar Sitsongrit (ranked 239 p4p, 33 weight class) and Magnus Thoressen (ranked 2092 p4p, 231 weight class). Julio Cesar Sitsongrit has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Julio Cesar Sitsongrit!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Magnus Thoressen!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Colin Fotheringham and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sitsongrit fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Thoressen throws out a counter right but Sitsongrit avoids it with no problem.
A low kick from Thoressen is predictable there

and Sitsongrit counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Sitsongrit drops back looking for a leg! Thoressen is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Thoressen manages to kick Sitsongrit off! Sitsongrit jumps back into Thoressen's guard.

Thoressen is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Sitsongrit fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Sitsongrit shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Sitsongrit is defended easily by Thoressen.

Thoressen walks into a stiff left hand from Sitsongrit.
Sitsongrit connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Thoressen's hands.
Magnus Thoressen is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Sitsongrit shoots in for a takedown but Thoressen shows good takedown defense.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Sitsongrit checks a leg kick.
Sitsongrit throws a body punch but Thoressen moves out of range.

Sitsongrit seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Thoressen is having to fend off submission attempts from Sitsongrit, who is looking to sink in the choke. Sitsongrit doesn't have the hooks in though and Thoressen manages to reverse position! He's now on top, in his opponent's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Thoressen tries to roll over but Sitsongrit keeps him under control.

Thoressen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sitsongrit swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Thoressen has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Sitsongrit needs to keep his hands up - Thoressen had a free shot at his head there.
Thoressen lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Sitsongrit at a distance.
Sitsongrit looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Thoressen is fending him off so far but Sitsongrit persists. Nope, Thoressen circles away and we're back to standing.
Sitsongrit uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Thoressen.
Sitsongrit misses with an uppercut. Thoressen saw that one coming.
A nice inside leg kick there by Thoressen. That's going to slow Sitsongrit down.

and Sitsongrit counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

A less than humble Julio Cesar Sitsongrit misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
