Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Maximus McDougall (ranked 4237 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hakkamunoi Phouthong (ranked 7583 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Hakkamunoi Phouthong was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Phouthong fails with a takedown attempt.

McDougall moves into range and clinches up with Phouthong.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Phouthong just misses with a elbow thrown towards McDougall's brow.

Phouthong gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

McDougall tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Phouthong paws at him with a jab and circles away.
McDougall shoots in looking for a takedown. Phouthong tries to sprawl out of it but McDougall keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Phouthong manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
McDougall tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Phouthong swivels and escapes.
We've been informed that Phouthong has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

McDougall gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Phouthong regains guard.
McDougall wants to control from the top but Phouthong keeps moving.

Phouthong wants to stand and escape but McDougall is having none of it.

McDougall thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

McDougall lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Phouthong circles away quickly and effectively.

Phouthong dives in and grabs McDougall's left leg, looking for a takedown. McDougall pushes down on Phouthong's head and hops out.

McDougall shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Phouthong sprawls well. Phouthong wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. McDougall gets slowly back to his feet.

Phouthong shoots in looking for a takedown but McDougall manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Phouthong's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

McDougall has closed the distance and engaged Phouthong in a clinch.
McDougall is pressed up against the cage. Phouthong has hold of a leg and is looking to drag McDougall down to the mat. McDougall avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

I would just about give that final round to Hakkamunoi Phouthong.
Well McDougall has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
