Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Cruz Dillon (ranked 24890 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jorge Masvidal (ranked 6633 p4p, 0 weight class). Jorge Masvidal will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Cruz Dillon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jorge Masvidal !
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Steven Brown and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dillon fails to land with a series of punches.
Masvidal slips a jab and a cross from Dillon.
Dillon tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Dillon tries to keep at a distance but Masvidal has taken the fight into the clinch.
Masvidal is trying to force a seperation but Dillon has the dominant position.
Masvidal lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Dillon has Masvidal pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Dillon pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Masvidal tumbling to the mat - Dillon dives into Masvidal 's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Masvidal working for a triangle but Dillon defends it easily.
Dillon could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Dillon has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Masvidal is proving hard to escape from.

Masvidal throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Masvidal controls Dillon momentarily but Dillon frees himself.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Dillon engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Dillon trying to control the position from guard on top but Masvidal is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Masvidal clinches.

Masvidal drags the fight down to the ground.

Dillon drops back looking for a leg! Masvidal is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Masvidal manages to kick Dillon off! Dillon jumps back into Masvidal 's guard.
Masvidal is pulling down on Dillon's head. It's preventing any offense from Dillon, at least for the moment.

Masvidal controls Dillon momentarily but Dillon frees himself.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Dillon wants to control from the top but Masvidal keeps moving.
Masvidal not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Dillon misses with a head kick.
Dillon sets himself, and Masvidal steps forward looking for the clinch! Dillon avoids it this time.
Masvidal shoots in but no luck this time.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Masvidal clinches.
Dillon drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Masvidal gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Dillon.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Jorge Masvidal will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Masvidal clinches up with Dillon and pushes him back against the cage.
Masvidal jumps guard but Dillon stands there with Masvidal around his waist. Masvidal gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Masvidal tries to land knees in the clinch but Dillon avoids the damage to the body.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Masvidal forces Dillon back against the cage and clinches.
Masvidal is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Dillon jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Masvidal walks away with a smile on his face. Dillon gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cruz Dillon. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Masvidal gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Dillon throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Cruz Dillon is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Horrible takedown attempt by Masvidal or perhaps it was just good defense by Dillon, which made it look bad.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jorge Masvidal showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!

Dillon displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Masvidal .

Jorge Masvidal is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
