Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dirk Kutaz (ranked 811 p4p, 102 weight class) and Ivan Blood (ranked 444 p4p, 49 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Dirk Kutaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ivan Blood!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Michael Johnstone and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kutaz walks into a straight right hand from Blood.
Blood misses with an uppercut
and Kutaz counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Kutaz tries to keep at a distance but Blood has taken the fight into the clinch.
I was talking to Kutaz's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Kutaz breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Blood swings widly with a right hand
and Kutaz counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Blood throws a right hand that misses
and Kutaz counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Kutaz takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Kutaz misses the jab.
Blood throws a lazy right hand but Kutaz sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Blood fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kutaz manages to avoid it.
An attempted straight right counter from Kutaz misses the target.
Blood fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Kutaz on the side of the head.

A nice right hand lands inside from Blood.

and Kutaz counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

It looked like Kutaz wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Blood throws a lazy uppercut
and Kutaz counters with a nice uppercut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kutaz's jab looks to have found its range, popping Blood under the eye.
Kutaz takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Kutaz cracks Blood with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Blood dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Blood's coach down at Temp Spar Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Blood's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Kutaz is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Kutaz is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Blood throws a hook to the side of Kutaz's head but Kutaz sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Kutaz takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kutaz scores with a hook to the body. Blood takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

A close round but Ivan Blood will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Blood in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Blood wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Blood lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Blood displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Kutaz throws out the jab.
Kutaz cracks Blood with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

and Kutaz connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
A jab lands there for Blood.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Blood tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kutaz swats him away and circles back towards the center.

and Kutaz scores with a counter punch that sends Blood to the canvas! Kutaz smells blood - he's punishing Blood with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Blood has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dirk Kutaz!
In his post fight interview, Dirk Kutaz started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
