PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between John Jones (ranked 2318 p4p, 49 weight class) and Al Queda (ranked 6800 p4p, 230 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, John Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Al Queda!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Bart Greer and David Hoff.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones connects with the punch.
Queda is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Queda misses with a low kick as Jones jumps back.
Jones throws a quick counter head kick but Queda was just out of range.

Queda cracks Jones with a left hand that drops him to the canvas, up against the ropes! Can Jones get back up in time? 3, 4, 5, 6, 7... he's on one knee... 8, 9... he's up! 'Walk towards me' says the referee. Jones looks steady enough to continue so we're going to continue!

It looks like John Jones has been cut.
Queda throws a leg kick
and Jones counters with a left to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Queda takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Queda scores a knockdown with a big right hand! Jones beats the count and gets back to his feet. The referee asks him to walk forwards and it appears he is OK so we'll continue the bout.

and Jones counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Nice uppercut lands for Jones. That snapped Queda's head back.
Jones ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Queda moves away.
Queda lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Jones cracks Queda with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Queda misses with a straight left.
Queda doesn't manage to clinch there - Jones circles away.
Queda takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
An inside leg kick lands from Jones.
Jones looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Jones looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.

Queda avoids the head kick by Jones.
Queda fails in his attempt to clinch.
Jones is looking to counter punch.
Jones keeps the fight on the outside.

Queda throws out a loose jab but Jones uses good head movement to avoid it.

Queda throws a right hand that Jones ducks under and follows up with a left that Jones also avoids with ease.

and Jones counters with an outside leg kick.
Queda misses the shot to the body.

Jones throws out a head kick that Queda doesn't see coming - it connects and sends Queda crashing to the mat face first! He's bounced up to his knees and is scrambling to get back to his feet and beat the count. He's up on 5 but still looks a bit groggy; will the referee allow it to continue??? He's taking a good look into Queda's eyes and has decided to let it go on!

It looks like Al Queda has been cut.

Jones throws a head kick but Queda moves out of range.
A slapping leg kick lands for Jones.
Jones lands a body shot.
Jones lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Queda at a distance.
Jones scores with a nice body kick.
Queda moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Queda misses with a kick to the body
and Jones counters with a stiff right hand.
Jones is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Jones lands a jab to Queda's midsection.
Queda looks winded!
Jones connects with a leg kick. Queda looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Jones jabs at Queda's body.
Jones lands a right hook to the body.
Jones moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Jones's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Jones duly obliges.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Jones, right into the meat.
Jones scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

Queda on the wrong end of a kick to the body.

Jones lands a head kick that bluckles Queda and drops him to the canvas. He's still conscious but it looks like it's going to take him the full 10 seconds to get back his senses! He's up on 9 and seems to be just about OK to continue.... the referee agrees and we're back to the action with Jones no doubt looking to push for a finish!

Jones catches Queda napping and cracks him with a perfect head kick! Queda goes down! He's bigtime hurt! He's not going to make it back to his feet - the referee has called it off! This one is all over!

A very excited looking John Jones rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
