Coming up we have a light heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Mang Kanor (ranked 5922 p4p, 509 weight class) and Flip Fortuin (ranked 6239 p4p, 515 weight class). Kanor comes to the ring accompanied by Mang J̶o̶s̶e̶ Kanor by Parokya ni Edgarskie. The crowd seem to be enjoying Fortuin's choice of entrance music: You shook me all night long. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mang Kanor!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Flip Fortuin!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Peter Branson and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kanor blocks a head kick by Fortuin.
Fortuin swinging wildly here.
Kanor appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.

Kanor rushes Fortuin and presses him up against the ropes.
Fortuin's coach down at Temp Spar Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Fortuin's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Fortuin blocks the elbow strike.
Kanor lands a body shot.
Kanor digs a right hand into Fortuin's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Fortuin's gas tank.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Kanor as Fortuin tries to tie him up.

Fortuin can't find room to land a body shot as Kanor controls the action.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Kanor gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.


It looks like Flip Fortuin has been cut.
Fortuin is looking to control Kanor's arms but Kanor gets an underhook and turns him. Now Fortuin has his back to the ropes.
Kanor gets through Fortuin's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Fortuin looking to stall.
Nice elbow from Kanor.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fortuin tries to land knees in the clinch but Kanor avoids the damage to the body.

Fortuin takes an elbow to the temple.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Kanor.
Kanor lands an elbow just above Fortuin 's eye.

The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Flip Fortuin.
Kanor blocks a jab.
Fortuin lands with a nice combination. Kanor backs away looking to recover.
Kanor lands a body shot.
Fortuin steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Kanor.
The fighters circling - Fortuin throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Flip Fortuin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kanor avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Kanor comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Kanor's jab looks to have found its range, popping Fortuin under the eye.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Kanor gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Kanor blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Kanor comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Kanor makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Kanor stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Fortuin is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Kanor is defending well for now.

Kanor gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.


That has opened up Flip Fortuin's cut even more.
Fortuin takes an elbow to the forehead.


Fortuin is rocked!
Kanor pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the ropes.
Kanor lands an elbow just above Fortuin 's eye.
Fortuin is still on wobbly legs! Can Kanor finish him?
Kanor throws an elbow that misses.
Kanor breaks the clinch momentarily and cracks Fortuin with a big right hook that drops him to the canvas! Fortuin looks like he might be in big trouble here! The referee has started the count straight away and we're up to 5 already. Fortuin get to one knee - can he make it back to his feet? No, he's flopped back to the mat - he's out - this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Mang Kanor!
Mang Kanor retains his light heavyweight title!
Mang Kanor decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
Flip Fortuin was interviewed post fight and said 'I just was not fast enough!'.
