Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Pete Ginn (ranked 6290 p4p, 217 weight class) and Curtis Black (ranked 5601 p4p, 203 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pete Ginn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Curtis Black!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Black scores with a jab. Ginn acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Black throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Ginn sees it coming and avoids it easily.
It looked like Ginn was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Black throws a predictable looking body shot

and Ginn counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Ginn seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Black is defending against the submission attempts here by Ginn.
Ginn stalling.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ginn wants to lay and pray for a moment but Black keeps working.

Black looks like he's trying to stand up.
Ginn tries to pass the half guard into mount. Black knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Black avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Ginn.

Black really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ginn. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Ginn wants to free his trapped foot but Black is holding on for dear life with his legs.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Black tries to kick Ginn off in order to stand up. Ginn Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

Ginn is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Black has escaped the position, nice work there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Black wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Ginn advances nicely into full mount.
Ginn tries to control but Black wriggling away.
Ginn controlling the pace for now.

Ginn working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.

Ginn is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Black can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Black squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ginn is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Black can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Ginn with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Black is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Ginn lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Ginn looking to control but Black is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Ginn punching from mount but Black doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Ginn throws some wild stikes that Black manages to avoid easily.

Ginn is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Black has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Ginn has hold of Black's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Black manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ginn takes one to the chin there.
Ginn walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Black misses with an uppercut. Ginn saw that one coming.
Black throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Black lands an overhand right.
Black throws a shot to the body.
Nice shot lands for Black.
Black misses with a double jab.
Black scores with a jab to the body.
Black jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Ginn displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Black throws out the jab.
Ginn looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.
Ginn shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Black as he avoids it easily.
Black swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Black throws a body punch but Ginn moves out of range.
Curtis Black seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Black digs a good body shot into Ginn's ribs.
Ginn keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Ginn takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Pete Ginn is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Black ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ginn moves away.
Black looks to score with a jab to the body but Ginn is just out of range.
Black throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Black lands a right hook to the body.
Black takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Curtis Black is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Black avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Black throws a right and a left that Ginn avoids nicely.
Ginn fails to land the takedown.
Black fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ginn manages to avoid it.
Black looks to land a combination but Ginn avoids it well.
Ginn seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Ginn throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Black stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Black dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Black misses with an uppercut.
As Black looks to move away, Ginn throws a big counter combo but Black just gets out of the way.
Black throws a sloppy body shot
and Ginn counters with a big head kick but Black shrugs it off.
Ginn walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Black thuds a left hand into Ginn's body.
Black tests Ginn's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Ginn misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Black jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Ginn tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Black manages to circle out of the way.
Ginn slips under a jab from Black.
Black tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Ginn was well out of range. Poor timing from Black.
Ginn displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Black throws out the jab.
Black lands a jab to the head.
A telegraphed right hand from Black misses the target.
Ginn went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Black misses the shot to the body.
The fight stays on the outside here - Ginn looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Ginn shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Black pinned against the cage. Black gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pete Ginn. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Black cracks Ginn with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Ginn gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Black.
Nice uppercut lands for Black. That snapped Ginn's head back.
Ginn uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Black.

Black has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Black swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Ginn.

and Ginn counters with a nice low kick that buckles Black's knee momentarily.
Black fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Ginn on the side of the head.
A jab lands there for Black.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

A looping hook to the body misses from Black. Ginn does a little dance to reset his feet.
Ginn seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Black looks to land a left hand but Ginn moved out of range nicely.

Curtis Black showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Ginn takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Ginn looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Black cracks Ginn with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Ginn thuds his shin into the meat of Black's side.

Ginn takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Black takes a swing at Ginn's ribcage but misses.
Ginn throws a big counter combination but Black scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Ginn avoids the body shot from Black.
Ginn's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Ginn duly obliges.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ginn moves away from the strike by Black.
Black throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Black scores with a jab to the jaw.
Black ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ginn moves away.

Ginn cracks the inside of Black's front leg.
Black tries to bum rush Ginn with a series of wild strikes but Ginn uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Ginn doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Ginn lands with a thumping leg kick.
Ginn fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Black is out of range.

Ginn clinches up against the cage.
Black misses with a punch to the body.
Ginn tries a body shot but Black blocks it.
Ginn tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Black's elbow.
Ginn tries to pull guard but Black won't allow it.
Black tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Ginn keeps control of Black as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Black is trying to push Ginn away but Ginn has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Black lands on the inside with an uppercut.

Ginn prevents Black from breaking the clinch.

Ginn pulls guard.
Black trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Ginn manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Black manages to get himself to full guard.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Pete Ginn overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Ginn content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Ginn distracts Black with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Ginn passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Ginn has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Black!

Ginn has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Ginn takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
