PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sam Rinaldi (ranked 379 p4p, 55 weight class) and Jab Buckeye (ranked 1820 p4p, 231 weight class). Buckeye is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Right above it lil Wayne . The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

KOMBAT KLOTHING


Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Sam Rinaldi!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jab Buckeye!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Igor Prikhodko and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Buckeye has his takedown stuffed
and Rinaldi counters with a straight right hand.


It looks like Jab Buckeye has been cut.
Buckeye misses with a double jab
and Rinaldi cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Buckeye gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Buckeye shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Rinaldi sprawls well. Rinaldi wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Buckeye gets slowly back to his feet.
Rinaldi has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Buckeye takes a body punch but keeps moving.

Buckeye bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Rinaldi manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Buckeye is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Rinaldi sees it coming and defends easily.
Rinaldi moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Rinaldi pulls Buckeye in to control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rinaldi is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Buckeye throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Buckeye trying to control the position from guard on top but Rinaldi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Buckeye is looking to work some ground and pound but Rinaldi has wrist control.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Rinaldi is on top in guard.


Rinaldi avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Buckeye tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Buckeye looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Rinaldi has picked Buckeye up and slammed him! Buckeye can't keep hold of the triangle and Rinaldi manages to pass to side control!

Buckeye is trying to improve his position.
Rinaldi lands a few punches from side control.
Rinaldi takes a little break here. Buckeye wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Buckeye has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.

Rinaldi tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Buckeye is in all sorts of trouble here.
Buckeye is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Rinaldi scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Buckeye?

Buckeye is looking to improve his position.

That has opened up Jab Buckeye's cut even more.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Buckeye slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sam Rinaldi dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Jab Buckeye's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Buckeye takes a jab right on the kisser.
Buckeye closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.


The cut above Jab Buckeye's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

Buckeye shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Rinaldi napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Sam Rinaldi overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Rinaldi is not content to let Buckeye control the position.
Buckeye tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Buckeye is chipping away with strikes.

Buckeye goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Rinaldi rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Buckeye's guard! Nice work there by Rinaldi!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rinaldi keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Buckeye's head.

Rinaldi is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Jab Buckeye's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:25 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Sam Rinaldi!

Sam Rinaldi spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
