The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shower shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Shower missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Roberts is refusing to be controlled, as Shower sits in half guard.

Roberts manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Shower tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Roberts paws at him with a jab and circles away.
As Shower looks to move away, Roberts throws a big counter combo but Shower just gets out of the way.
Shower throws a nice head kick!

It looks like Buford Roberts has been cut.
John Shower seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Roberts gets caught napping as Shower dives in and scores a takedown. Roberts manages to retain guard.

Roberts pushes Shower off and scrambles back to his feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Roberts shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Roberts was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Roberts stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Shower rushes Roberts with punches - Roberts moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Roberts goes down! Shower follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!
