The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Topal drives through and clinches with Anderson against the cage.
Anderson avoids the elbow strike from Topal, against the cage.

Topal pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Anderson looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Anderson lands with a kick to the temple. Topal shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Amir Topal seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

A countering left hand to the body from Topal misses.
Topal tries to score a power double leg takedown but Anderson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Topal somewhat.

Anderson slaps away a takedown attempt from Topal, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Topal seems to have recovered his senses.
Topal walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Anderson checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Anderson swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Anderson dips to his left and cracks Topal with an uppercut!
Topal shoots in but Anderson avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Anderson lands a big uppercut and Topal crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Topal looks OK. Anderson waves Topal back to his feet!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Topal closes this distance looking for a takedown but Anderson circles away.

Anderson lands an overhand right.
Topal changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Anderson tries to avoid it but Topal manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Anderson to the ground. Anderson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Anderson feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Topal sprawling to the canvas! Topal rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Anderson finish him?!
A nice leg kick lands there from Anderson.
Topal with a lazy takedown attempt
and Anderson counters with a crisp right that sends Topal to the canvas! Anderson follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!
