Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Norman Mccoy (ranked 6262 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dj Peavler (ranked 5793 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peavler misses with a takedown attempt

and Mccoy moves into the clinch.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Mccoy just leaning against Peavler, taking a breather.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Peavler ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Peavler no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mccoy drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Peavler manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Mccoy has Peavler in his guard.

Peavler works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Peavler wants to stand but Mccoy has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Mccoy can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Peavler controls the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Peavler wants to clinch

and Mccoy counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Peavler is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Mccoy wants to pass the guard but Peavler is keeping the position.
Peavler controls Mccoy momentarily but Mccoy frees himself.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Mccoy gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Dj Peavler will probably get the nod.
That's time! Mccoy's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Peavler dives in and grabs Mccoy's left leg, looking for a takedown. Mccoy pushes down on Peavler's head and hops out.
Peavler uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Mccoy.

Peavler throws Mccoy to one side and escapes!
Dj Peavler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Peavler shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Mccoy sprawls well. Mccoy wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Peavler gets slowly back to his feet.
Mccoy throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Mccoy tries to score with a low kick but Peavler moves his leg out of the way.

and Mccoy decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Peavler's guard.

Peavler pushes Mccoy off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Peavler goes for a double leg but Mccoy avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Mccoy continues to drive forward.

Peavler tries to break the clinch but Mccoy is controlling the position.

Peavler jumps into guard, dragging Mccoy to the mat.

Mccoy gets to his feet. Peavler looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Mccoy tries to counter with a takedown but Peavler is quick to defend against it.
Mccoy throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Mccoy has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Peavler uses from the top position.

Peavler trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Mccoy manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

Mccoy stands and steps away. Peavler gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Mccoy really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Mccoy is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Peavler lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Peavler postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Mccoy is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Peavler, into his guard.

Mccoy gets to his feet - Peavler follows without any prompting.

Mccoy throws a looping overhand right but Peavler ducks down to avoid it.
Peavler shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mccoy but Mccoy pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Peavler uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Mccoy.
Mccoy tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Peavler was well out of range. Poor timing from Mccoy.

A slapping leg kick lands for Mccoy.
Peavler closes the distance and clinches up with Mccoy, looking for a takedown. Peavler pushes Mccoy against the cage but Mccoy circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Mccoy is looking for a triangle here but Peavler uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
You can see the frustration on Mccoy's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Mccoy wants to improve his position, back to half guard but Peavler has ideas of his own. He's got hold of Mccoy's far side arm and it looks like he's got an Americana. Ohh! Ohhhh! OOOOOOOOOH! A human being's arm is not meant to bend like that! Mccoy is tapping like a morse code operator on the Titanic! SOS SOS! He's out of here! Great win for Peavler!
