Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Josey Wales (ranked 1933 p4p, 242 weight class) and Tsuyoi Kakuto (ranked 1949 p4p, 244 weight class). Kakuto is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Gorillaz-Dirty Harry. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Josey Wales!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tsuyoi Kakuto!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Cecil Peabody and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kakuto tries to clinch but Wales is having none of it.
Kakuto is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

It looks like Tsuyoi Kakuto has been cut.
No luck for Kakuto with that takedown attempt.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Wales breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Kakuto tries to score a power double leg takedown but Wales sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kakuto somewhat.

Kakuto closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Wales to the mat! Wales manages to get full guard.

Wales wants to sweep but no luck.
Kakuto postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Wales holds on and takes a little breather.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Wales fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Kakuto tries to close the distance and clinch up but Wales swats him away and circles back towards the center.
A little feinted left hand from Wales on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Kakuto shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Wales napping and manages to drive through into side control!
This has been an exciting period of action!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Wales wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Wales is wriggling around but Kakuto manages to pass to half guard.
Kakuto frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Wales tries to hold on but Kakuto postures up.

Kakuto won't let Wales get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

Tsuyoi Kakuto has got the better of the ground game so far.
Wales is looking to improve his position but Kakuto isn't that keen on the idea.
Wales squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Kakuto looking to control and managing it successfully.
Wales keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Kakuto can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Wales is looking to escape.
Kakuto takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Kakuto changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

We've been informed that Kakuto has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

The cut above Tsuyoi Kakuto's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Wales throws a monster overhand right that drops Kakuto! Wales follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
