The judges for this bout are William Peck, Gregory Folan and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sakurai throws a head kick that misses.
Sakurai tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Anderson paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Anderson stuffs the takedown.
Anderson steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Sakurai. That one must have hurt.

Sakurai lands a leg kick that knocks Anderson off balance momentarily.
Anderson walks forward, straight into a front kick from Sakurai.

Sakurai wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Sakurai tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Anderson just stands there and leans against the cage.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sakurai is fighting off a takedown attempt but Anderson is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Sakurai to the mat. Sakurai regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Anderson has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

It looks like Suzuki Sakurai has been cut.

Anderson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sakurai swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Let's hope that Anderson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
