Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mongali Samson (ranked 4394 p4p, 349 weight class) and Oskar Schmidt (ranked 2956 p4p, 283 weight class). Samson comes to the cage accompanied by Hosh Tokolosh. Schmidt has chosen Sweet Dreams as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Mongali Samson has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Aafke Stam and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schmidt moves into the clinch.
Samson tries to circle away but Schmidt has him pinned against the cage.
Schmidt turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Schmidt manages to end up in side control.
Samson is looking for a sweep.
Samson manages to work his way to half guard, despite Schmidt's best efforts.

Samson flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Schmidt is trying to control the action in half guard but Samson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Samson wants to control but Schmidt is keeping busy.
Samson is staying active underneath Schmidt, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Schmidt lands a nice short elbow.
It looks like Mongali Samson has been cut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Schmidt is trying to control. Samson wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Schmidt is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Samson has hold of Schmidt's hands but Schmidt slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Samson is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Schmidt scores with a couple of nice shots.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Schmidt seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Mongali Samson's cut is getting worse.
Samson has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Mongali Samson's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Samson wants to improve his position but Schmidt is controlling well.

Jeez, Mongali Samson's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Mongali Samson's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
