The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kang feints and as Stradlin raises his hands in defense, Kang changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Stradlin on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Stradlin tries to get out of the position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Stradlin fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Kang sprawls well initially but Stradlin persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Stradlin is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Kang is just riding it out for now. Stradlin eventually gives up the hold.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Kang shoots in but no luck this time.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Kang enables Stradlin to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Kang manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
