Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Don Johns (ranked 2305 p4p, 277 weight class) and Howard Stern (ranked 2553 p4p, 315 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Stern's choice of entrance music: The Great American Nightmare. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Don Johns!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 33 - 28 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Howard Stern!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Roger Salmon and Micheangelo Fripello.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stern walks into a jab.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Stern has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That was a close second round but I would say that Don Johns will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Howard Stern's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Stern's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Johns connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Stern scrambles back to his feet.

Johns lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Don Johns.
Well Johns has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
