Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kenny Key!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hunter Helmsley!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Gregory Folan and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Helmsley closes the distance and pushes Key back into the cage.
Key on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Helmsley gets a trip takedown into half guard.

Key pushes Helmsley off and gets back to his feet.

Helmsley decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Key has one foot on Helmsley's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Helmsley shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Helmsley thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Key keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Key is trying to get back to full guard.
Key is not content to let Helmsley control the position.
Key controlling the position well.
Key works his way to full guard. Good work.
Helmsley trying to control the position from guard on top but Key is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Helmsley tries to free his leg and advance position but Key is retaining full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Hunter Helmsley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Key misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Key tries to keep at a distance but Helmsley has taken the fight into the clinch.

Helmsley lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Key is concentrating on defense, preventing Helmsley from advancing position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
It looks like Helmsley is going to stand back up.

Helmsley must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Key has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Helmsley is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Key.
Who's going to make the next move?
Key wants to control but Helmsley postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Kenny Key will probably get the nod.

Key won't allow Helmsley to sweep him here.
Helmsley wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Key is now in half guard.
Helmsley scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Key manages to mount him!
Helmsley is desperately trying to improve his position but Key has a good base and remains in mount.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Key lands a nice short elbow.

Helmsley has hold of Key's hands but Key slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Helmsley has a hand on Key's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Key takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
Helmsley tries to lock up and control but Key gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Key controlling the pace for now.
Helmsley is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

Helmsley wants to control but Key is having none of it.

Key with some aggressive grappling here, looking for the finish.
Helmsley tries to hold on but Key postures up.

Helmsley is looking to improve his position but Key isn't that keen on the idea.
Key has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Helmsley's face.
Key is landing with some decent strikes but Helmsley is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Helmsley is working to get back to half guard.
Key pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
A big strike lands for Key! That's really hurt Helmsley and he's turned his back - Key keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Key jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kenny Key!
