PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Quinn Klein (ranked 7149 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lupe Fuentes (ranked 24146 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Quinn Klein has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Quinn Klein seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fuentes goes for a double leg but Klein avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Klein continues to drive forward.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Fuentes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fuentes tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Fuentes wants to lay and pray for a moment but Klein keeps working.
Fuentes grinds an elbow into Klein's temple.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fuentes scores with a couple of short elbows.
Klein manages to get back to half guard.
Fuentes is just content to waste time from the top position. Klein takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Fuentes is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Fuentes must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Fuentes looking to sit in guard and control but Klein gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Klein stands up over Fuentes, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Fuentes really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Klein. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Fuentes had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Klein defends it easily.

Klein got a little sloppy there for a moment and Fuentes has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Klein has managed to get both his arms back between Fuentes's legs - danger averted.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Fuentes content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Klein has locked up a guillotine! Klein's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Fuentes is holding on here and Klein must be using up a lot of energy. Fuentes has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Klein gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
