Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Quincy Ball!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Strahinja Jancic!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Alan Glass and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jancic gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Ball breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Jancic drives through with a takedown into Ball's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ball is looking to stand up but Jancic isn't so interested in that idea.

Ball tries to keep at a distance but Jancic has taken the fight into the clinch.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Jancic can't get the takedown.
Ball effectively controlling the action here.

Ball gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Ground and pound from Ball.
Ball not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Ball throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Jancic seems keen to control Ball's posture.

Ball trying to control the position from guard on top but Jancic is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Jancic is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Ball throws a big right hand that misses.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Jancic lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Ball can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Jancic controls the pace.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Jancic's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Let's hope that Jancic has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

and Ball counters with a three punch combo that has Jancic backing up. Jancic nods at Ball to acknowledge the strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Strahinja Jancic will probably get the nod.
That's time! Ball's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Ball has clasped his hands together around Jancic's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Jancic sneaks out the side door and pushes Ball away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Jancic looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Ball thinks about countering with a head kick.

Ball fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Jancic, pushing him back against the cage.
Ball misses with a short punch on the inside.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jancic jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Ball walks away with a smile on his face. Jancic gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Jancic clinches with his opponent.
Jancic is working for takedown but Ball is calmly controlling the position for now.

Ball ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Ball no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Jancic throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ball works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Jancic forces Ball back against the cage and clinches.
Jancic drops down looking for an ankle pick but Ball pulls his leg out and moves away.

Jancic is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Ball is defending well.

Jancic changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Ball fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Jancic avoids the head kick by Ball.
Jancic goes for a double leg but Ball avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Ball continues to drive forward.
Ball is looking for a counter combo.

Ball shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Jancic manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Jancic pushes Ball off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Jancic avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Ball shoots in and bounces Jancic off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Ball will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Ball throws an elbow that misses. Jancic uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Ball's guard. Nice move by Jancic!

Jancic closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Ball's guard.

Jancic fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Jancic throws a series of strikes that have Ball backpedaling.
Ball throws a sloppy head kick and Jancic moves out of range easily.
Ball tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Jancic manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Jancic wants to counter the offense by Ball and move into the clinch position.

and Ball counters with a left and a right that stings Jancic.

and Ball counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Jancic is looking to pass Ball's guard but actually Ball recovers to full guard.

Jancic drops back, looking for a kneebar! Ball looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Ball looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Ball!

Ball wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jancic keeps working.
Quincy Ball has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Strahinja Jancic is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Ball lands a decent elbow from side control.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Quincy Ball.
I think Jancic has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
