PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Duff McKagan (ranked 4972 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sherlock Holmes (ranked 4961 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Holmes throws a sloppy head kick

and McKagan decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Holmes's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

McKagan thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Holmes escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. McKagan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

McKagan drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and McKagan jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Holmes has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but McKagan can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

McKagan seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Holmes for as long as he can get away with.

McKagan drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says McKagan as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Holmes screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with McKagan! Nice submission victory there!
