Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lewis Stevens (ranked 3355 p4p, 355 weight class) and Ray Wells (ranked 24807 p4p, 535 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Lewis Stevens !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ray Wells!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Ryoma Takatsuka and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wells misses with a takedown attempt

and Stevens holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Wells looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Stevens with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Stevens pushes Wells back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.

Stevens has Wells pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Stevens pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Wells tumbling to the mat - Stevens dives into Wells's guard.

Stevens decides to stand and escape the position.
Wells shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Stevens as he avoids it easily.
Stevens throws a big counter combination but Wells scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Wells rushes Stevens and presses him up against the cage.

Stevens escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Stevens has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Wells clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Wells tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Stevens defends well and Wells ends up having to push Stevens into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Wells got a little sloppy there for a moment and Stevens has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Wells has managed to get both his arms back between Stevens 's legs - danger averted.

Stevens is stalling here. Wells is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Stevens seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Wells has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Stevens has his foot on Wells's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Wells works his way back into a safe position though.
