Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Joe Gatsby (ranked 1463 p4p, 169 weight class) and Darren Lamb (ranked 1361 p4p, 157 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joe Gatsby!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 32 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Darren Lamb!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Chris Downing and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lamb throws a hook to the side of Gatsby's head but Gatsby sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Gatsby doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Gatsby scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Lamb doesn't seem bothered though.
Lamb fails to land with a series of punches.
Gatsby appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Lamb throws a nice looking combination but Gatsby bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Darren Lamb seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gatsby scores with a jab to the body.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Lamb checks a leg kick.

That was a close round but I would say that Joe Gatsby will probably get the nod.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Lamb wants to hold on but Gatsby pushes him away.

Gatsby moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Lamb has worked his arm free - good work by Lamb!
Gatsby wants to control but Lamb is keeping him busy.
Gatsby misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Gatsby wants to take a breather but Lamb manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Gatsby.

Gatsby is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Lamb still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Lamb has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Gatsby, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
