Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Stig Tuft (ranked 3460 p4p, 0 weight class) and Portgas D Ace (ranked 2834 p4p, 325 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Stig Tuft!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Portgas D Ace!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Dirk Anderson and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tuft shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as D Ace sprawls well. D Ace wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Tuft gets slowly back to his feet.
D Ace misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Tuft.
Tuft slips a jab and a cross from D Ace.

Tuft fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging D Ace to the ground. Tuft is now in D Ace's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tuft slips nicely into half guard.
D Ace is looking to improve his position.
D Ace looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Tuft seems to be looking for submissions.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Tuft works his foot free and advances to mount.

D Ace wants to control but Tuft is having none of it.
Tuft can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as D Ace is looking to escape.

Tuft jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but D Ace manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Tuft looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Tuft is trying to get an arm triangle but D Ace is defending well.

D Ace is looking for a sweep.
Tuft wants to control but D Ace is keeping him busy.
D Ace sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
D Ace is trying to control but can't.
Tuft trying to control from half guard but D Ace is working away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tuft seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
D Ace really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tuft. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Tuft wants to work for an arm triangle but D Ace is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Tuft is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Tuft looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Tuft is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Tuft has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for D Ace! Can he survive? No! He's out! Tuft gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Stig Tuft!
Stig Tuft decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
