Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Agustin Suares (ranked 6124 p4p, 0 weight class) and Piet Smit (ranked 1360 p4p, 172 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Smit's choice of entrance music: Baby Got Back. On his way into the cage it seems that Agustin Suares has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Agustin Suares seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Suares throws a jab when Smit was well out of range.
Smit slips under a jab.
Suares has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Smit steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Suares.
Smit looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Smit tries to close the distance and clinch up but Suares swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Agustin Suares seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Smit rushes Suares and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Smit keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Suares's efforts to push away.
Smit's coach down at Temp Spar Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Smit's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Smit can't get the takedown.
Smit is looking for a takedown.
Suares tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Smit's elbow.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Suares doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
A head punch on the inside from Suares fails to land.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.

Suares goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Suares is looking to control Smit's arms but Smit gets an underhook and turns him. Now Suares has his back to the cage.
Suares misses with a punch to the body.
Suares has had enough of the clinch but Smit keeps him there for the moment.
Suares gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Smit.
Agustin Suares has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Piet Smit.
Suares tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Smit is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Suares is defending well.
Smit can't get the takedown.
Suares is trying to push Smit away but Smit has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Suares misses with a punch on the inside.
Smit keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Suares's efforts to push away.
Suares misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Suares tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Smit's elbow.

Suares is fighting off a takedown attempt but Smit is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Suares to the mat. Suares regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Suares controls Smit momentarily but Smit frees himself.
Smit trying to control the position from guard on top but Suares is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Smit drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Smit seems to have locked his on tight now - Suares screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Smit, as he picks up the win!
