The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shaw uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Artemovich has time to react.

Shaw ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Artemovich moves away.
Tim Shaw seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Artemovich takes one to the side of the head.
Shaw leaves Artemovich with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Shaw is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Shaw fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Artemovich manages to avoid it.

Artemovich fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Shaw to the ground. Artemovich is now in Shaw's guard.
Shaw has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Shaw can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Artemovich controls the pace.

Shaw knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Artemovich on the ground.
