Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Anderson (ranked 3150 p4p, 360 weight class) and Cole Ison (ranked 5285 p4p, 463 weight class). Cole Ison told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Anderson remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Anderson is nestled in close to Ison, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Ison is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Anderson pulls his head out easily.
Anderson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Ison with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Ison is looking for a sweep. Anderson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Anderson in particular looking to stall.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Anderson lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Ison quite badly. Ison pulls Anderson in close trying to recover. Anderson postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Ison on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Ison doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
