Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brian Baker (ranked 1824 p4p, 236 weight class) and Evan Dryll (ranked 1899 p4p, 242 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Brian Baker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Evan Dryll!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Patrick Alders and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Dryll fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Baker looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Dryll lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Baker has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Baker and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Dryll throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Baker swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

Baker feints a jab promting Dryll to slip. Baker then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Dryll slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Baker tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Dryll was well out of range. Poor timing from Baker.
A countering left hand to the body from Dryll misses.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Dryll throws a jab but it's blocked by Baker.
Dryll tries to clinch there but Baker circles away.

Baker tries to clinch but Dryll is having none of it.
Dryll jabbing away but nothing is landing.

letting Dryll counter with a right hand.
Dryll scores with a sloppy right hand. Baker should have avoided that one.
Dryll connects with a high kick.
Baker takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Baker lands a jab to the nose.
Baker explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Baker wants to clinch.
Baker missing with a left hand there. Dryll was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Dryll digs a good body shot into Baker's ribs.
Baker throws a body shot but no joy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Dryll has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Brian Baker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Baker connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Dryll! He's out on his feet! Baker rushes in and drops Dryll with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
