PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Amadou Poussin (ranked 1038 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robin Gracie (ranked 906 p4p, 108 weight class). Gracie comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Olha a Explosão kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! On his way into the cage it seems that Amadou Poussin has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Amadou Poussin seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Poussin manages to avoid it.
A counter left hand to the body from Poussin misses its target.

Gracie closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Poussin quickly recovers to half guard.
Poussin tries to kick Gracie off but Gracie keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Gracie has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Yaw-Yan Ardigma. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

Gracie is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Poussin doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gracie.

Gracie is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Poussin looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Gracie wants to improve his position but instead Poussin has moved into half guard.
Poussin seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Poussin in particular looking to stall.

Poussin wants to get up but he can't break Gracie's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Gracie has his foot on Poussin's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Poussin works his way back into a safe position though.

Poussin has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Gracie has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Poussin lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Gracie backwards.

Gracie is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Poussin defends well.

Poussin wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Gracie's closed guard. He's half up but Gracie has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Gracie pivots and extends the arm, Poussin falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Gracie! Well done that man!
