PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Morrison Lee (ranked 639 p4p, 79 weight class) and Crush Bandicoot (ranked 618 p4p, 77 weight class). Lee's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, The Pretender. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lee defending well as Bandicoot loads up on a big left hand.
Bandicoot throws a lazy right hand but Lee sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
A swing and a miss from Bandicoot.
Morrison Lee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lee thows a left - swing and a miss!
Bandicoot walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Lee takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
A punch lands to the side of Bandicoot 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Lee fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bandicoot manages to avoid it.
Bandicoot throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Lee connects with a crisp jab.
Lee throws a sloppy head kick
and Bandicoot counters with a stiff right hand.

and Lee counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lee wants to land a leg kick but Bandicoot is out of range.
A jab lands there for Lee.
Bandicoot throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Lee moves away from the strike by Bandicoot.

Both fighters circling a little - Lee finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Bandicoot ducks under a wild hook from Lee.
Bandicoot throws out a counter right but Lee avoids it with no problem.
Lee moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Bandicoot misses with a few strikes there.
Nice defenses there by Lee.
Bandicoot takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Bandicoot is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.
Lee stuns Bandicoot with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Bandicoot throws a jab but it's blocked by Lee.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Bandicoot throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Lee escapes and throws Bandicoot's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Bandicoot can't do much from the bottom here.

Lee swings around for an armbar but Bandicoot sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Lee's guard.
Bandicoot throws a strike but Lee rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Bandicoot is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Bandicoot keeping moving, preventing Lee from controlling successfully.

Bandicoot wants to sweep here but Lee controlling him for the moment.

Lee passes Bandicoot's left leg - he's now in half guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Bandicoot is trying to get back to full guard.
Well, if Lee is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
