Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Anton Shibaev (ranked 334 p4p, 0 weight class) and Piet Smit (ranked 1274 p4p, 164 weight class). Smit has chosen Baby Got Back as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Piet Smit!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shibaev misses with a straight left.
Shibaev seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.

Smit forces Shibaev back against the cage and clinches.

Shibaev changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Smit fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Smit parries the strikes from Shibaev easily there. Shibaev is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Smit to escape.
Shibaev has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

That's time! Shibaev's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!



Shibaev closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Smit to the mat! Smit manages to get full guard.
Smit is looking to stand back up but Shibaev counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Smit.

Shibaev looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Shibaev connects with a nice short shot to Smit's temple.

Smit is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Shibaev with him. Shibaev is trying to defend but Smit has an arm under the chin now! Shibaev grimaces and is forced to tap out!
