Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Anderson Hayesless!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kurt Red!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Dean Styles and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hayesless misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Hayesless goes for a double leg but Red avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Red continues to drive forward.
Hayesless tries to clinch up.
Hayesless fails with a takedown attempt.
Red wants to counter with a clinch but Hayesless pushes him away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Anderson Hayesless. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hayesless lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Red circles away quickly and effectively.
Hayesless looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Hayesless tries to clinch up but Red circles away and keeps his distance.

Hayesless tries to keep at a distance but Red has taken the fight into the clinch.

Red jumps into guard, dragging Hayesless to the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Red wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Hayesless is now in half guard.
Red wants to improve his position but Hayesless is controlling well.
Hayesless not landing any meaningful shots this time.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Red gets back to full guard.
Red is looking to stand back up but Hayesless counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Red.
Red tries to get to full guard but Hayesless has control of the leg.
Red trying to control from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Red wants to improve his position but Hayesless is controlling well.
Red looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Red wants to get back to full guard but Hayesless has passed into side control.
Red wants to get back to his feet but Hayesless drags him back down.

Hayesless is trying to get an arm triangle but Red is defending well.
Red trying to control but Hayesless flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!
Red turns into Hayesless and is now in his guard.

Hayesless is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Red is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Red stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hayesless swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Hayesless can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Red controls the pace.
Hayesless wants to get back to his feet but Red is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Hayesless keeping moving, preventing Red from controlling successfully.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Hayesless tries a head kick but it misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


A shot to the body from Red misses
and Hayesless counters with a two punch combo.
Red circles away from the clinch attempt.
Hayesless blocks a leg kick.
Red changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hayesless tries to avoid it but Red manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hayesless to the ground. Hayesless escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Red tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Red clinches with his opponent.

Hayesless jumps into guard, dragging Red to the mat.
Red is looking to stand up but Hayesless won't let him.
Red is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Let's hope that Red has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Red trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Hayesless manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

Hayesless has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Hayesless gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Hayesless controls Red momentarily but Red frees himself.
Red looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Hayesless working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Red doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Red manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Red wants to control from the top but Hayesless keeps moving.
Red would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Red with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Red throwing strikes but missing.
Red advances to half guard.
Red is controlling the pace.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Red uses his free foot to push down on Hayesless's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Hayesless.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Anderson Hayesless will probably get the nod.
That's time! Hayesless's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


A big left from Red misses.
Hayesless tries to score a power double leg takedown but Red sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hayesless somewhat.
Hayesless wants to clinch up but Red keeps it at a distance.
Red throws a counter combo.
Nice sprawl there from Hayesless as Red shoots in.
Hayesless fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Red avoids it really well and circles away.

Hayesless is trying hard to land a takedown here. Red sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Red unleashes a big counter combination but Hayesless bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

Red shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Hayesless napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Red has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Red is looking to take a break and control but Hayesless is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Hayesless is trying to escape the position but Red is controlling the position.
Red is putting a hurting on Hayesless here, landing some big shots from side control.
Hayesless can't do much from the bottom here.
Hayesless is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Red is controlling him well.
Red tries to move to mount but Hayesless blocks the move with his legs.
Hayesless is working to avoid the ground and pound but Red connects with a decent elbow.

Kurt Red comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Red has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
