PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Galen Dall (ranked 341 p4p, 46 weight class) and Taz McKane (ranked 255 p4p, 31 weight class). Dall comes to the cage accompanied by Red - Already Over. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 28 - 19 - 0, fighting out of New York, Galen Dall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Taz McKane!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McKane walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
McKane throws a shot from downtown. Dall moves away and avoids it.
McKane throws a hook but Dall avoids it easily.
Dall throwing a counter right hand but McKane manages to avoid it.
McKane keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
McKane lands a jab.
Dall uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by McKane.
Dall fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches McKane on the side of the head.
McKane stuns Dall with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
McKane misses with an uppercut
and Dall connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
A big right from McKane misses.
McKane takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
McKane misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Dall.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Dall keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
We've been informed that McKane has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Dall motions for McKane to come forward. Dall throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
McKane swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Dall just misses with a punch to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dall scores with a decent looking hook.
McKane takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Dall shoots for a double leg takedown but McKane sprawls well. He's pushed Dall's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
McKane throws a poor cross that misses
and Dall counters with a lovely shot to the body.
A jab from McKane finds it's way through Dall's defenses.
Dall takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Dall throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
McKane looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
McKane tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Dall ducks under a wild hook from McKane.
McKane scores with a nice strike.
Dall moves forwards but McKane connects with a nice, crisp jab.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
McKane looks to score with a jab to the body but Dall is just out of range.
Dall appears to be looking for a counter takedown.

McKane pushes Dall up against the cage in a clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
McKane lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Dall backwards.
McKane throws a punch but it's blocked by Dall.

Dall pulls guard effortlessly.

Dall is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. McKane is aware though and is defending well.
Dall is trying to keep McKane in close.
McKane trying to stand up but can't free himself from Dall's guard.
McKane is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Dall throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Dall not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dall has a closed guard, preventing McKane from standing up.

Dall looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Dall has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. McKane doesn't defend quickly enough and Dall has managed to lock this one up! Can McKane escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Dall on a fantastic submission victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Galen Dall!
In his post fight interview, Galen Dall started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
