PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ueda Umanouke (ranked 302 p4p, 44 weight class) and Christophe Dupree (ranked 468 p4p, 65 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Umanouke might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Kenji Kawai's Making of a Cyborg. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 16 - 0, fighting out of New York, Christophe Dupree!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Umanouke fails with a takedown attempt.
Umanouke shoots in and drives through. Dupree sprawls well.
Umanouke connects with a body shot.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
A jab from Umanouke finds it's way through Dupree's defenses.
Dupree throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Dupree missing with a left hand there. Umanouke was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Umanouke looks to score with a jab to the body but Dupree is just out of range.

Dupree lands a big head kick that sends Umanouke tumbling to the mat! Dupree takes a step backwards and waves Umanouke back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Umanouke is rocked!

It looks like Ueda Umanouke has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Dupree looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Umanouke changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Oh Umanouke is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Umanouke tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Dupree defends well and Umanouke ends up having to push Dupree into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Umanouke seems to have got his legs back now.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ueda Umanouke. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Umanouke slips a jab from Dupree.
Umanouke tries to counter with a takedown but Dupree is quick to defend against it.
Dupree uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Umanouke.
Dupree has worked on his takedown defense in the runup to this fight and it is paying off so far.
Umanouke throws a series of punches but Dupree avoids them all with ease.
A nice side step and Dupree releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Umanouke has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Umanouke throws a hook but Dupree blocks it.
Umanouke looks to land a right hand but Dupree moved out of range.
Dupree misses with a low kick as Umanouke jumps back.
Umanouke misses with a body shot.
Dupree looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Dupree lands a monster head kick that reverborates around the arena! The crowd goes wild as Umanouke crumples to the floor! Dupree milks the crowd's applause and if that isn't knockout of the night, I will be very surprised!

In defeat, Ueda Umanouke stepped up to the mic, saying 'Nothing ventured, nothing gained. You can't do anything without risking something. I will be back to avenge my honor.'.
