Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rodolfo Gracie (ranked 4010 p4p, 404 weight class) and Joe Mama (ranked 5882 p4p, 492 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gracie tries to sprawl but Mama drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Gracie is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at The Forge, so we'll see if he gets out of it.

Mama wants to take a breather but Gracie is having none of it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mama tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Mama has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gracie tries to reverse the position but Mama maintains control.

Mama swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Gracie is now in Mama's guard. A big mistake from Mama there, giving up the dominant position!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Gracie avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Joe Mama dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Gracie closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Gracie lands in his opponent's guard.

Gracie is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Mama is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Mama looking to hit a scissor sweep but Gracie is one step ahead there.

Mama doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Gracie drops back looking for a leg! Mama is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Mama manages to kick Gracie off! Gracie jumps back into Mama's guard.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Mama shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Mama showed some decent athleticism there.

Well Mama has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
