Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Elijah Stanley (ranked 7188 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lucas Schmidt (ranked 4920 p4p, 0 weight class). Elijah Stanley is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Elijah Stanley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lucas Schmidt!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Steve Montenegro and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schmidt dodges the punch combination from Stanley.

Stanley closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Stanley working over Schmidt with some ground and pound. Schmidt looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Schmidt moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Stanley lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Stanley is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Schmidt can do anything to dispel that myth.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Stanley lands a couple of elbows.
Schmidt pulls Stanley in close to his closed guard and prevents Stanley from doing any damage or advancing position.
Stanley loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Stanley drops back looking for a leg! Schmidt is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Schmidt manages to kick Stanley off! Stanley jumps back into Schmidt's guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Schmidt stuffs the takedown attempt from Stanley. Stanley gets slowly back to his feet.
Schmidt misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Schmidt has taken the fight to the clinch.

Schmidt fails to pull guard.

Stanley pulls guard effortlessly.
Schmidt chips away with some ground and pound.
Stanley will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Schmidt passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Schmidt controls the position.
Stanley is looking for a sweep.
Schmidt throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
Stanley seems a little lost for a moment, as Schmidt dominates the positioning.

Schmidt is looking to take a break and control but Stanley is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Schmidt happy to just control the position for now.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Stanley manages to get back to half guard.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Schmidt shoots in looking for a takedown. Stanley tries to sprawl out of it but Schmidt keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Stanley manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Schmidt throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Stanley's waist but Stanley gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Schmidt off to one side.
Stanley stuffs the takedown.
Elijah Stanley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lucas Schmidt.

Stanley shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Schmidt's guard.
Schmidt utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Schmidt misses with a takedown attempt - Stanley sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Stanley wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

Stanley clinches up with Schmidt and pushes him back against the cage.
Schmidt throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Stanleys head.
Stanley is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Schmidt prevents Stanley from breaking the clinch.
Schmidt tries to pull guard but Stanley won't allow it.
Schmidt should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Schmidt escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Stanley breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Stanley shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Stanley thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Stanley is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Schmidt gets back to full guard.
Stanley throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Schmidt throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Stanley accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Schmidt seems keen to control Stanley's posture.

Schmidt has momentary wrist control but Stanley slips an elbow through the middle.

Stanley decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

and Stanley counters by clinching up.
Schmidt takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Schmidt pulls guard successfully.

Schmidt had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Stanley defends it easily.
Stanley postures up in Schmidt's guard and throws a big left but Schmidt blocks it.

Stanley thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Stanley's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Stanley scoring with some ground and pound.

Schmidt escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Stanley gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Stanley with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Stanley is fighting to break Schmidt's control of his arms but Schmidt is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Elijah Stanley showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Stanley has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
