Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Juu Dyon (ranked 340 p4p, 46 weight class) and Jesse Point (ranked 617 p4p, 80 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Juu Dyon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jesse Point!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dyon shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Point but Point pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Point thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Dyon if he has to take too many more of those.
Point connects with a leg kick. Dyon looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Dyon is looking to clinch but Point is avoiding it.
Point was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Point thuds a left hand into Dyon's body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Point goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Dyon half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Dyon shoots in and drives through. Point sprawls well.

and Point counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Dyon tries to clinch but Point is having none of it.
Point unleashes a big counter combination but Dyon bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Dyon shoots in looking for a takedown. Point tries to sprawl out of it but Dyon keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Point manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Dyon takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Point takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Jesse Point seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Point buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Dyon blocks the body kick.

Dyon gets the takedown into side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Point is trying to control Dyon's posture but Dyon avoids it.
Dyon misses with the ground and pound.
Point felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Dyon really is built like a bowling ball. I wonder if he'd roll if you pushed him down a hill...

Dyon jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Point is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Point and Dyon has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Dyon is really struggling to control Point but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Dyon has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Dyon postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Dyon is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Point has escaped the position, nice work there.

Dyon is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Point is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Dyon wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Point, who protects the arm well.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Point is looking for a sweep.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Point enables Dyon to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Point manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dyon drops back, looking for a kneebar! Point looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Point looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Point!

Dyon might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Point takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Point.

Point feints and then cracks Dyon's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Dyon down.
Point is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Point lands a leg kick that knocks Dyon off balance momentarily.
Point throws a head kick that Dyon semi-blocks.
Dyon looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Point is fending him off so far but Dyon persists. Nope, Point circles away and we're back to standing.

Point moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Point throws a jab when Dyon was well out of range.
Dyon shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Point sprawls well. Point wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Dyon gets slowly back to his feet.
Dyon takes a shot to the body in his stride.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Dyon.
Dyon goes for a double leg but Point avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Point continues to drive forward.
Point is looking for the big counter here.
Juu Dyon has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Point throws a wild body kick that Dyon sees coming a mile off.

Well Point has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
