The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garcia uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Tierro.
Tierro connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Tierro tries to bum rush Garcia with a series of wild strikes but Garcia uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Garcia avoids a punch combination nicely.
Garcia gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Garcia shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Tierro sprawls well. Tierro wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Garcia gets slowly back to his feet.
Tierro swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Tierro throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Garcia looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Tierro is fending him off so far but Garcia persists. Nope, Tierro circles away and we're back to standing.
Garcia could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Garcia closes the distance and clinches up with Tierro, looking for a takedown. Garcia pushes Tierro against the cage but Tierro circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Cariltos Tierro seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Garcia is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
