And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

6 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Saifulla Rakhmonov!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Daniel Franklin and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rakhmonov shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Taranin sprawls well. Taranin wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Rakhmonov gets slowly back to his feet.
Nice takedown defense from Taranin. No joy for Rakhmonov on that attempt.
Rakhmonov connects with a leg kick. Taranin looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Taranin stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Taranin wants it to stay on the feet.
Segey Taranin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Saifulla Rakhmonov.

Taranin winds up and cracks Rakhmonov with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Rakhmonov can do anything to dispel that myth.
Rakhmonov trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
That's one minute gone in the round.
Taranin is landing with some decent strikes but Rakhmonov is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
We've been hearing good reports from Taranin's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Taranin pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Rakhmonov is rocked!
Taranin is in full mount looking to finish with strikes. He lands a big shot, followed by another and Rakhmonov goes limp! The ref jumps in to end the fight - a big win for Taranin!
