Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hosea Dotson (ranked 4911 p4p, 0 weight class) and Khalid Tahal (ranked 6510 p4p, 0 weight class). Khalid Tahal will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Khalid Tahal!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Wagner Zegers and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tahal tries to sprawl but Dotson drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Tahal tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Dotson manages to move to mount!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dotson putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dotson controlling the pace for now.
Tahal tries to hold on but Dotson postures up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dotson tries to work over Tahal's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Dotson trying to control the position but instead, Tahal has worked for underhooks and has pushed Dotson into the cage.

Dotson prevents a takedown attempt there.
Tahal tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Dotson smiles and moves away.

Tahal looks for the body kick but Dotson saw that one coming.

Dotson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Tahal tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

Dotson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Dotson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Dotson feints and as Tahal raises his hands in defense, Dotson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Dotson stands and steps away. Tahal gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Dotson has Tahal pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Dotson pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Tahal tumbling to the mat - Dotson dives into Tahal's guard.
Tahal wants to get back to his feet but Dotson passes into half guard.
Tahal is breathing heavily.

Tahal is trying to maintain the position but Dotson is very close to passing his half guard.

Tahal has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Dotson is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Tahal is pressed up against the cage. Dotson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Tahal down to the mat. Tahal avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Tahal keeps the fight on the outside.
Tahal gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Dotson counters with a left and a right that stings Tahal.
Hosea Dotson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Khalid Tahal.
Dotson tries to clinch but Tahal moves out of range.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Dotson shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Dotson showed some decent athleticism there.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Tahal is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Dotson manages to break the clinch.

Dotson rushes Tahal and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Dotson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Tahal throws a leg kick
and Dotson counters with a head kick.

Dotson is looking to take this one to the mat.

Dotson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Tahal. Dotson shrugs it off though.

Dotson gets a double leg takedown into Tahal's guard.
Tahal is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Dotson dives into side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Tahal is letting Dotson control him for a moment.

Dotson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Tahal sprawls well initially but Dotson persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Well, if Dotson is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Tahal finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Dotson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Tahal is trying to defend but Dotson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Well Dotson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
