Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Anthony Griffith (ranked 866 p4p, 42 weight class) and Ickey Woods (ranked 3403 p4p, 86 weight class). Woods is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by System of a Down- Chop Suey. Anthony Griffith had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Anthony Griffith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ickey Woods!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Griffith moves into range and clinches up with Woods.
Woods tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Griffith really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Our spies down at at Touch Of Death Combat Academy inform us that Woods has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
Griffith is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Woods isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Griffith stacks Woods on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Griffith!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

That was a close round but I would say that Anthony Griffith will probably get the nod.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Griffith lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Woods has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Woods and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Woods on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Griffith takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Woods is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Woods wants to control but Griffith is keeping busy.
Woods is looking for a sweep. Griffith is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Griffith seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Griffith, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
