The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Obsidian tries to clinch but Perro moves out of range.
Obsidian feints a jab promting Perro to slip. Obsidian then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Perro slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.


It looks like el Perro has been cut.
Obsidian throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Perro misses with a series of wild punches.
Obsidian misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Sloppy strikes from Perro. Those never looked like landing.
Obsidian throws a right hand that Perro ducks under and follows up with a left that Perro also avoids with ease.
Perro drops down looking for a counter takedown but Obsidian sprawls and moves away.
Perro looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Obsidian tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Obsidian is looking to clinch but Perro is avoiding it.
Obsidian will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Obsidian has had enough of the clinch but Perro keeps him there for the moment.
Perro swings wildly with an uppercut but Obsidian uses good head movement to avoid it.
Obsidian jumps guard but Perro stands there with Obsidian around his waist. Obsidian gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Obsidian has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Perro after a bit of a struggle.

We've been informed that Obsidian has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Obsidian tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Obsidian jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Perro walks away with a smile on his face. Obsidian gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Perro throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Perro blocks a head kick by Obsidian.
Perro drops down looking for a counter takedown but Obsidian sprawls and moves away.
Obsidian dives in and grabs Perro's left leg, looking for a takedown. Perro pushes down on Obsidian's head and hops out.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Perro throws a right and a left that both miss.
el Perro is winning the standup battle so far.
A combination from Perro does no damage.

Byron Obsidian seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Obsidian shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Perro is trying to defend but Obsidian finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Perro tries to kick Obsidian off in order to stand up. Obsidian Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Obsidian is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Perro looks calm but he's in trouble here. Obsidian gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Perro is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Obsidian lets go of the hold and Perro can pop his arm back in it's socket.
