PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Blaine Salazar (ranked 23722 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sebastian Sava (ranked 6488 p4p, 0 weight class). Sava has chosen Galway girl as his entrance music. Sebastian Sava has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Salazar gets tackled into the cage by Sava. Sava maintains the clinch.

Salazar ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Salazar no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Salazar will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Salazar has his foot on Sava's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sava works his way back into a safe position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Salazar manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Sava on his heels. He'll look to pass Sava's guard now, I'm sure.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Salazar connects with a nice short shot to Sava's temple.
Sava really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Salazar. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Salazar is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Salazar thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Sava's head.

Salazar has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Sava throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Salazar.

We've been informed that Sava has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Sava fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Salazar to the ground. Sava is now in Salazar's guard.

Salazar working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sava doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Salazar is tightening it up a little... Sava has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Sava reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Sava taps out! Nice BJJ there by Salazar!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:51 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Blaine Salazar!
