Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hakeem Oki (ranked 1233 p4p, 150 weight class) and Andrey Eremeev (ranked 2062 p4p, 227 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hakeem Oki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Andrey Eremeev!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Radbod Blank and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oki throws a body punch but Eremeev moves out of range.
Oki lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Eremeev keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Oki looks to land a left hand but Eremeev moved out of range nicely.
Eremeev changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Eremeev shoots in and bounces Oki off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Eremeev is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
It looks like Eremeev might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Eremeev wants to pass the guard but Oki is keeping the position.
Eremeev slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Eremeev is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Eremeev is fighting to break Oki's control of his arms but Oki is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Eremeev stands and throws Oki's legs to the side, diving into side control.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Eremeev is looking to take a break and control but Oki is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Eremeev wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Oki, who protects the arm well.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Hakeem Oki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Oki misses with a hook. Eremeev ducked under it nicely.
Oki looks to land a combination but Eremeev avoids it well.
Oki cracks Eremeev with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Oki throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

Eremeev closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Oki quickly recovers to half guard.

Oki is looking to improve his position.
Oki might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Eremeev perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Let's hope that Eremeev has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Eremeev shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Oki is trying to defend but Eremeev finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Hakeem Oki is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Eremeev shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Oki is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

My spies in Power Shark Gym inform me that Eremeev has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Eremeev tries to pass the half guard into mount. Oki knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Eremeev wants to pass the guard but Oki is defending well.

Eremeev shoots in for a takedown but Oki shows good takedown defense.
Andrey Eremeev is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Oki misses with an uppercut. Eremeev saw that one coming.
Oki throws a jab when Eremeev was well out of range.
Oki scores with a kick to the midsection.
Eremeev shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Oki as he avoids it easily.
Hakeem Oki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andrey Eremeev.
Oki shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Eremeev eats them both and turns towards Oki to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Oki misses with a hook.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Oki stuffs the takedown.
Oki throws a hook but Eremeev avoids it easily.
We've been told by Oki's head coaches at Official UFC Performance Institute Training Center that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Oki misses with a jab, cross combination.
Eremeev with the counter takedown but Oki avoids it easily.

Eremeev decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Oki pushes Eremeev off and gets back to his feet.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Eremeev fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Oki avoids it really well and circles away.
Eremeev dives in for a single leg takedown but Oki sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Oki throws a quick counter kick to the body but Eremeev avoids it.
Eremeev shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Oki defends it nicely.
Hakeem Oki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andrey Eremeev.
Oki rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Eremeev moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Eremeev manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Oki on his heels. He'll look to pass Oki's guard now, I'm sure.
Oki wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

and Oki connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

and Oki makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Eremeev drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Oki defends it well.
Oki leaves Eremeev with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Oki looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Eremeev shoots in for a double leg but Oki sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
No joy there for Oki, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Oki connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Eremeev fails with a takedown attempt.
A looping hook to the body misses from Oki. Eremeev does a little dance to reset his feet.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Oki is refusing to be controlled, as Eremeev sits in half guard.

Hakeem Oki opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.
