The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wayne takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Mayoniko throws a low kick but Wayne moves out of range easily.
Wayne connects with a right hand. Mayoniko shakes it off.
Nice cross by Wayne.
Mayoniko throws a body punch but Wayne moves out of range.
Mayoniko throws an overhand right that lands on Wayne's shoulder, as Wayne tries to avoid the shot.
Wayne uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Mayoniko.
Wayne throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.

Wayne moves into range and clinches up with Mayoniko.
A head punch on the inside from Wayne fails to land.
Mayoniko blocking some punches.
Wayne keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Mayoniko's efforts to push away.

Wayne tries a body shot but Mayoniko blocks it.

Mayoniko breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Mayoniko lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Wayne at a distance.
Mayoniko gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Wayne.
Mayoniko lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Wayne pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Mayoniko swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Wayne rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Mayoniko connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
A telegraphed right hand from Mayoniko misses the target.
Mayoniko scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Wayne throws an off balance right hand
and Mayoniko counters with a nice uppercut.

Mayoniko throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Wayne was covering up waiting for the punch and Mayoniko finishes the takedown easily into guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Wayne pulls Mayoniko in close to prevent any damage.

Wayne is trying to control the position but Mayoniko postures up.
Mayoniko stands and throws Wayne's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Wayne tries to improve position but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mayoniko is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Wayne knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Wayne is looking to regain half guard here but Mayoniko keeps moving and retains side control.

Wayne manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Wayne is looking for a kimura but Mayoniko is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Wayne to get the leverage.
Mayoniko is trying to control but can't.
Mayoniko is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Wayne's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Wayne's back!

So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

Wayne breaks Mayoniko's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Mayoniko seems keen to control Wayne's posture.
Wayne makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Wayne has gone for a leg lock! Mayoniko slips out almost immediately though and dives into Wayne's guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Wayne not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Wayne looking for a triangle here. Mayoniko is fighting it but it looks tight! Wayne pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Mayoniko is tapping out - this one is all over!
