Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dane Figueroa (ranked 6898 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mati Karppinen (ranked 4853 p4p, 457 weight class). Mati Karppinen acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Figueroa lands a head shot.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Karppinen.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Karppinen is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Figueroa's shoulder. That is not cool.
Karppinen tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Figueroa parries the strikes from Karppinen easily there. Karppinen is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Figueroa to escape.
Karppinen gets to mount! Figueroa was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

Karppinen swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Figueroa is now in Karppinen's guard. A big mistake from Karppinen there, giving up the dominant position!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Figueroa stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Karppinen throws up his legs and catches Figueroa in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Figueroa tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Karppinen! That came out of nowhere!
