The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rasmussen tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Budinha defends well and Rasmussen ends up having to push Budinha into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Rasmussen moves out of the way of the counter high kick fromBudinha.
Rasmussen shoots for a takedown but Budinha saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Rasmussen throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Budinha's head.
Budinha tries to clinch up
and Rasmussen counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Rasmussen shoots in looking for a takedown. Budinha tries to sprawl out of it but Rasmussen keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Budinha manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Budinha drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Rasmussen defends it well.

Rasmussen throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Budinha's waist but Budinha gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rasmussen off to one side.

Budinha wants to stand and escape but Rasmussen is having none of it.

Budinha manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Budinha just misses with a elbow thrown towards Rasmussen's brow.

Rasmussen wants to stand up but Budinha is controlling him.
Rasmussen will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Rasmussen looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Budinha puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rasmussen wants to get back to full guard but Budinha has passed into side control.

Budinha can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Rasmussen is looking to escape.
Budinha should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Budinha stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Budinha defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Rasmussen.
Rasmussen fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Budinha avoids it really well and circles away.

Budinha wants to clinch up but Rasmussen keeps it at a distance.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Budinha tries to close the distance and clinch but Rasmussen swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Rasmussen goes for a double leg but Budinha avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Budinha continues to drive forward.
A nice side step and Budinha releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Rasmussen shoots for a double leg takedown but Budinha sprawls well. He's pushed Rasmussen's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
