The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Joyce closes the distance and pushes Do Arrocha back into the cage.

Do Arrocha is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Joyce with a body shot.

A nice side step and Do Arrocha releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Do Arrocha circles away from the clinch attempt.
Joyce closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Do Arrocha quickly recovers to half guard.
Joyce not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Do Arrocha moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Do Arrocha is controlling Joyce's posture.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Joyce wants to stand and escape but instead Do Arrocha has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Do Arrocha seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
