The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rivera has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Franks is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Rivera ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Rivera no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Rivera really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Franks feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Franks stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rivera swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Franks has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Rivera uses from the top position.

Franks is just content to waste time from the top position. Rivera takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Norberto Rivera.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Rivera, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
